Full production targets achieved in southern oilfields

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the National Iranian South Oilfields Company said all production targets for 1404 were fully achieved, including stable output, refinery feedstock supply and export crude from subsidiary operating companies. He also stressed the need for a fundamental overhaul of oil-sector planning and engineering systems.

According to the company, CEO made the remarks at the conclusion of a series of meetings on five-year forecasts for oil and gas well production. He praised oil industry workers, particularly for their efforts under difficult conditions during two wartime periods, saying subsidiary companies met all production and supply targets despite significant challenges.

Hatami said a comprehensive and independent plan will be developed in the coming months to address shortcomings in some areas. The plan will include requirements, on-the-ground realities, existing challenges, constructive proposals and combined solutions.

Key Role of Operating Companies

Hatami highlighted the distinct technical and operational characteristics of each subsidiary:

The ranks first in geographic scope and number of fields.

The benefits from a mix of mature and newer fields, creating unique opportunities for simultaneous oil and gas development.

The increased daily output by 84,000 barrels through 132 technical operations and processed more than 4 million barrels of oil.

The achieved 100.3% of its production commitments.

The made progress in sustainable production by using mobile processing units and implementing associated gas collection projects.

Hatami noted that nearly a century of oil production in the southern regions requires deep geographic and technical knowledge as a foundation for operational and development planning. He said a long-term vision is being outlined to boost production and protect reservoirs, even if some goals may not be achieved in the short term.

A Source of Hope for the Country

Hatami described the company, Iran’s largest oil producer, as carrying a critical responsibility. He said the public is counting on continued production in the southern oilfields and expressed confidence that, despite multiple constraints, the industry and the country face a promising future.
