NIOPDC : Fuel supply under control

SHANA (Tehran) - The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said in a statement that following attacks on oil depots in Tehran and Alborz provinces, fuel supply remains under control. The company said it has relied on strategic reserves, activated alternative routes and implemented preplanned measures, adding there is no concern about the stability of supply.

The statement said:
“The public is informed that during a cowardly attack Saturday evening (March 7) on oil depots in Tehran and Alborz and on petroleum product pipelines, carried out with the aim of directly harming the public by damaging this sector and disrupting the daily gasoline supply, four dedicated employees of this company were killed while serving the nation.
Despite damage to parts of the infrastructure, fuel supply remains under control through the use of strategic reserves, the activation of alternative routes and previously established contingency measures. There is no concern about the stability of supply.
To maintain balance in consumption and ensure public access until full distribution capacity is restored, temporary limits on fueling volumes will be applied in some areas affected by the attack. These measures are intended to guarantee fair and stable distribution of fuel during this transitional period.
Citizens are asked to avoid unnecessary travel and to use their personal fuel cards when refueling.
Given the available capacity of compressed natural gas, and to prevent congestion at fuel stations, drivers of dual-fuel vehicles are advised to refuel at CNG stations.”
