In statements released Sunday, executives from major state energy companies expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their work in the country’s strategic oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
Hamid Bovard, deputy oil minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, said he was deeply saddened by the news, describing Ayatollah Khamenei as a steadfast leader who devoted his life to defending Iran and advancing the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
He said the path and legacy of the late leader would continue and pledged that employees in the oil sector would remain committed to serving the Iranian people and safeguarding national resources.
Saeid Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, also expressed condolences, calling the loss a major blow to the Islamic world. He said workers in Iran’s gas industry condemn what he described as a terrorist act and remain committed to continuing the country’s energy operations and national development.
Similarly, Hassan Abbaszadeh, head of the National Petrochemical Company, said the petrochemical sector would continue its activities across the country despite the national mourning. He added that employees remain committed to advancing the industry and supporting Iran’s economic development.
Keramat Veis-Karami, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, said the killing had caused grief among Muslims worldwide and condemned what he described as a crime committed by Iran’s enemies.
Touraj Dehqani, CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company, also offered condolences to the Iranian people and employees of the oil industry, praying for patience for followers of the late leader.
In a separate message, the board, managers and employees of the Oil Industry Pension Funds expressed deep sorrow over Khamenei’s death and called for unity and national solidarity during what they described as a sensitive moment for the country.
The statements emphasized that Iran’s energy sector will continue operating and fulfilling its responsibilities despite the loss of the country’s Leader.
