Esmail Hosseini said the Energy Commission of the Parliament met Tuesday, with Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, with the session focused on reviewing lawmakers’ questions.
He said questions from 17 lawmakers had initially been referred to the committee, but some withdrew ahead of the meeting or postponed their questions. Ultimately, four lawmakers raised their questions during the session.
Hosseini said lawmakers were satisfied with the minister’s responses on several issues, including expanding refining capacity, gas exports and swap operations. However, on other matters — including pressure-boosting plans at the South Pars gas field — the commission agreed to hold additional technical and expert-level meetings to further examine the issue.
