BIPC Exports over 275,000 Tons of Petrochemicals

TEHRAN – Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex (BIPC) exported more than 275 thousand tons of its total 478 thousand ton output in the first month of current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to April 20, 2007).

According to the BIPC, the figure shows a 69 percent growth when compared to that of corresponding period in its preceding year.

Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex has three petrochemical companies named Basparan, Faravaresh, and Kimia, of which Faravaresh Company has achieved 97 percent of its objectives by producing over 351 thousand tons of different types of petrochemical products.

BIPC is the largest petrochemical complex of Iran in terms of production capacity and variety.

The company produces 30 types of petrochemical products which are used for making plastic bags, household appliances, irrigation pipes, and solvents for chemical industries.

The company products are also used for the production of detergents, toys, threads, moquette, tires, sheet-making and shoemaking.

Its products play a significant role in feeding other petrochemical units, meeting domestic needs, generating foreign exchange revenues, and creating high value added.
