Saeid Tavakoli told Shana on Thursday that the delivery target for power plants in December was set at 136 million cubic meters per day, but despite persistent cold weather, average deliveries from November 22 to November 30 reached 168 million cubic meters per day — about 32 million cubic meters above plan.
He said gas consumption at power plants reached 173 million cubic meters on November 30, reflecting the Oil Ministry’s efforts to manage the network and meet daily demand through proper planning during the cold season.
Tavakoli, who also serves as deputy oil minister for gas affairs, said gas deliveries to power plants since the start of the year (March 21) have exceeded last year’s level by more than 3.5 billion cubic meters. He added that in the first half of 1404, power plants consumed 43% of all gas delivered to the national network, allowing liquid fuel supplies to be stored for the winter season.
