According to the government’s information website, a meeting on energy consumption optimization was held Tueday chaired by Eskandar Momeni and attended by deputies from the Oil and Energy ministries, the government spokesperson, the head of the government’s Information Council, a special representative of the judiciary and other agencies. Participants exchanged updates on managing the country’s energy imbalance and made decisions on interagency cooperation and public outreach.
During the meeting, the interior minister emphasized that government institutions should set an example in reducing consumption. He said customers who fail to follow consumption guidelines will face outages, starting with government entities.
Momeni called on all relevant agencies to use their maximum capacity to support energy supply for citizens, adding that with a renewed media campaign and public cooperation, the country can again overcome this year’s challenges.
