TEHRAN – Construction of high density polyethylene plant of Kermanshah (in Harsin region) has progressed 16.36 percent during the month ending May 21.
The Public Relations Department of the National Petrochemical Company reported that the plan aims at technology transfer, job creation as well as reducing deprivation in western provinces of Iran.
The plant will produce 300,000 tons high density polyethylene per year.
Kermanshah high density polyethylene plant is one of the plants which are to be constructed along the West Ethylene Pipeline.
The contract was signed in January 2005 between the National Petrochemical Company and a consortium comprising Germanys Uhde and Irans Sazeh companies according to technical know-how purchased from Basell Company.
The plant is being built by Bakhtar Petrochemical Company. It has progressed 68.6 percent in terms of basic and detailed engineering, 9.5 percent in terms of purchase and construction, and 6.7 percent in terms of non-industrial buildings.
