Speaking Wednesday at the third Process Safety Conference, Shahram Ahmadi said the ministry launched its self-assessment–based evaluation of process safety system deployment three years ago as an effective and results-oriented strategy. He noted that 84 self-assessment forms were submitted by affiliated companies in 1404.
He added that after screening, technical reviews and field inspections by a specialized task force made up of representatives from the ministry and the four major oil companies, six projects were ultimately selected as the top process safety initiatives for 1404.
On the sidelines of the conference, CEOs of the companies behind the selected projects were honored with trophies and certificates of appreciation from the oil minister.
The selected projects were:
Nouri Petrochemical Company – “From Knowledge to Organizational Wisdom,” using business intelligence and artificial intelligence tools in knowledge management.
Amirkabir Petrochemical Company – Comprehensive audit and proof-test implementation for safety instrumented systems, including emergency shutdown (ESD) systems.
Persian Gulf Star Oil Company – Refinery unit assessment for process safety management system deployment through defining and describing key performance indicators (KPIs).
Zagros Petrochemical Company – Modeling and consequence analysis of process hazards and development of the PIP software.
Iranian Offshore Oil Company – Deployment of software for streamlining and managing work-permit issuance.
South Pars Gas Complex, Refinery No. 8 – Implementation of a software system for anomaly recording and management.
The initiative is seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen HSE culture and support effective innovation in process safety across the country’s oil industry.
