Nematollah Najafi said Wednesday during a winter fuel supply meeting at the company, that closer coordination is needed between the company’s 37 regional offices and headquarters. He said periodic evaluations of regional performance should be prioritized through designated assessment teams. These teams, he added, must routinely inspect and review the performance of distribution districts and outlets to determine compliance with operational indicators and official directives.
Najafi underscored the need to intensify monitoring of fuel outlets and to standardize rural fuel vendors and cooperatives. He said using smart systems for outlet oversight allows real-time identification of irregularities and enhances precision in managing distribution processes. Standardizing the structure, equipment and operating procedures of rural outlets, he added, will increase safety, transparency and service quality across the distribution network.
Redesigning the Smart Fuel System Architecture
Abbas Basafa, head of the smart fuel system at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, said the system’s architecture has been redesigned. The redesign was completed last month through extensive internal collaboration and is now undergoing trial testing.
He said one of the most significant recent achievements is the implementation of a new production line for smart fuel cards. Until now, the technology for personalizing equipment and issuing the cards was monopolized by Germany and China. However, through domestic expertise and reverse engineering, the company’s card division has broken that monopoly. The effort has enabled the addition of new machines to the production line and multiplied the company’s daily smart card production capacity.
