Household sector leads gas consumption with 2.44 bcm in seven days

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran’s natural gas consumption across its three main sectors — power plants, major industries, and the household-commercial-small industries group — totaled about 5.15 billion cubic meters over the past week. The household, commercial, and small industries sector accounted for the largest share, consuming more than 2.44 billion cubic meters.

Data from Nov. 1–7 show that the household, commercial, and small industries sector topped consumption with over 2.44 billion cubic meters, followed by power plants at more than 1.5 billion cubic meters and major industries at over 1.2 billion cubic meters. Total gas consumption across the three sectors during this period reached about 5.15 billion cubic meters.

Daily Consumption Breakdown:

 Saturday, Nov. 1: Power plants consumed 234.11 million cubic meters, major industries 174.52 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 299.44 million, totaling 708.07 million cubic meters.

 Sunday, Nov. 2: Power plants used 235.78 million cubic meters, major industries 176.16 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 308.57 million, totaling 720.51 million cubic meters.

 Monday, Nov. 3: Power plants consumed 227.01 million cubic meters, major industries 174.10 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 334.48 million, totaling 735.59 million cubic meters.

 Tuesday, Nov. 4: Power plants used 217.91 million cubic meters, major industries 170.65 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 357.85 million, totaling 746.41 million cubic meters.

 Wednesday, Nov. 5: Power plants consumed 215.19 million cubic meters, major industries 169.45 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 371.20 million, totaling 755.84 million cubic meters.

 Thursday, Nov. 6: Power plants used 195.68 million cubic meters, major industries 169.28 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 390.07 million, totaling 755.03 million cubic meters.

 Friday, Nov. 7: Power plants consumed 178.72 million cubic meters, major industries 169.23 million, and the household-commercial-small industries sector 378.44 million, totaling 726.39 million cubic meters.

 

Weekly Averages:

From Nov. 1–7, average daily gas consumption stood at about 215 million cubic meters for power plants, 172 million for major industries, and more than 348 million for the household-commercial-small industries sector.

Overall, the data show a gradual decline in consumption by power plants and a noticeable increase in household and commercial use — a trend driven by cooler weather and growing demand for heating across the country.
