According to the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), Omid Kiani said that the department’s performance during the first six months of this year reflects a steady upward trend in executing maintenance programs. In the first half of 1402, 674 of 1,567 approved work orders were planned and carried out, achieving a 75 percent completion rate. This figure rose to 82 percent in 1403 with 791 completed work orders out of 1,683, and further increased to 85 percent in 1404, with 1,061 executed from a total of 1,616 work orders.
Kiani noted that despite the annual rise in major maintenance performance during the first six months of each year, the total number of completed work orders has continued to grow—up 30 percent compared with the same period last year and 60 percent compared with 2023. He added that about 70 percent of all annual major maintenance activities are typically scheduled and executed in the first half of the year, when it is more feasible to take equipment and machinery offline.
Enhancing Planning and Technical Coordination in Maintenance Operations
Kiani explained that the department’s performance covers all specialized areas of major maintenance, including oil production and desalting units, gas plants (for gas compression, injection, and LPG recovery), rotating machinery, and power generators. These results, he said, demonstrate strengthened planning systems, improved productivity, and better coordination among technical and operational units across the southern oil-rich regions.
He emphasized that the department’s sustained growth in maintenance program execution stems from well-structured planning and collaboration among skilled personnel, along with support from other divisions such as production, finance, logistics, and integrated planning, as well as the operating companies—all driven by domestic expertise.
“Our goal is to enhance the integrity and efficiency of operational facilities, ensure production stability, and minimize unplanned shutdowns,” Kiani said. “We are determined to continue this path with full strength.”
He concluded that the department aims to fully achieve its approved plans and reinforce NISOC’s position as one of the country’s leading technical organizations in the field of major maintenance.
