Lorestan Petrochemical Plant To Start Production In 3 Years

TEHRAN -- Lorestan Petrochemical Complex, western Iran, is expected to start production within the next three years, Kamel Abedinzadeh, the managing director of the complex said.

He explained that Basel is in charge of providing the technological in the polyethylene unit, and the French Exxon Co. provides the technology required for the unit of butane-1, the Petroenergy Information Network (PIN) reported on Saturday. Covering a land area as large as 130 ha, Lorestan petrochemical plant is due to produce 300,000 tons linear low-density polyethylene and high-density polyethylene as well as 30,000 tons butane-1 per annum. The National Petrochemical Company is implementing the project. Moreover, the ethylene required by the plant will be supplied as the feed by the West Ethylene Pipeline as much as 300,000 tons per year. PIN.MNA
