Shobeir Nabavi, the project manager, said the well—drilled to a depth of nearly 4,000 meters—was completed in the border Phase 19 of the South Pars field and successfully brought online. The producing well on the SPD19B platform was drilled by the North Drilling Company under the third work package of the infill drilling project, Nabavi added.
He noted that four infill wells have been fully completed and put into production over the past eight months, boosting the field’s total gas output by about 7 million cubic meters per day. “According to the plan, at least four more wells will be drilled and brought online by the end of the year, leading to a significant increase in gas recovery,” he said.
The South Pars infill drilling project aims to raise gas production capacity from the joint field. It includes drilling 35 new wells across 17 existing platforms, which are expected to collectively boost daily gas production by 36 million cubic meters once fully operational.
