Speaking at a meeting on Sunday, to review the energy supply for industries, Pezeshkian emphasized the necessity of smart energy management during the cold season.
“Supplying the electricity and gas required by producers and industrialists is a definitive priority of the government because the continuity of production guarantees people’s livelihoods and the dynamism of the country’s economy,” he said, according to a report from the official presidential website.
He stressed the need for regional management and the equitable distribution of energy, instructing provincial governors to precisely identify the needs of industries in their respective provinces.
“Governors must accurately and categorically determine the needs of the industries in each province so that the management of electricity and gas distribution can be carried out in an orderly and fair manner based on the share and capacity of each region,” Pezeshkian said. “Each province is obliged to manage its share of energy intelligently.”
The president also ordered the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to facilitate the equipping of industrial units with solar power systems, including all industrial parks. He directed that domestically produced equipment be used when available, and if not, it should be imported to sustain production.
Pezeshkian called for public engagement in optimizing energy consumption, suggesting that effective conservation models be implemented in mosques and prayer halls. He noted that maintaining standard ambient temperatures in public places is an essential measure.
He outlined a government program to replace outdated heating appliances with modern, energy-efficient models labeled for low consumption. Pezeshkian also said educational and public awareness campaigns on energy saving should be seriously pursued by national media and digital and print publications.
All executive agencies have been instructed to service and prepare their heating systems before the start of the cold season, he added, and energy consumption in offices, schools and universities must be managed based on precise and principled planning.
The president thanked the ministries of oil and energy for their efforts in implementing optimization plans and developing renewable energy, expressing confidence that current projects involving solar panels and consumption management would soon resolve a significant part of the country's energy imbalance.
