NISOC stresses balancing oil output with environmental safeguards

SHANA (Tehran) – The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) is prioritizing both production continuity and environmental protection, the company’s managing director said.

Ebrahim Piramoun emphasized that crude oil output must be accompanied by proper wastewater management and preservation of water and soil resources.

During a Saturday visit to the Karit industrial complex, Piramoun highlighted that the Karoun Oil and Gas Production Company has achieved daily production of 1 million barrels of crude oil. He said controlling pollutants and safeguarding the environment is a necessity that cannot be overlooked.

According to NISOC, Piramoun inspected wastewater disposal processes at the Karoun company’s No. 1 desalting unit and Ahvaz centralized facilities, as well as wastewater treatment and injection projects in the Karit area. He called for accelerating completion of these projects.

Speaking with supervisors and field staff during the visit, Piramoun added that teamwork, solidarity, and reliance on domestic capabilities are essential to achieving the company’s strategic goals.
