SHANA (Tehran) – A meeting of the "Headquarters to Address Shortfalls" on the subject of winter energy and fuel supply was held with the deputies of the oil and power ministers in attendance, a member of the Iranian Parliament's Energy Committee said.

Ramezanali Sangdovini, detailing the Sunday (Sept. 14) meeting of the headquarters regarding energy supply for the cold season – which was attended by Saeid Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Co., and Keramat Vayskaramī, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Co. – stated: "In this meeting, the statements of the deputies and officials from the two ministries of oil and power were heard, and their requirements were reviewed."

He added, "We hope that in the upcoming winter we will have the fewest problems in the field of energy supply, including domestic and industrial electricity, winter fuel, gas, power plant fuel, and industrial fuel." He said it was decided at the meeting that the Energy Committee would receive planning, proposals and reports from the relevant ministries by Tuesday of this week, and after summarizing them, would present them to the speaker of Parliament.

The Energy Commission member emphasized that better energy reserves have been established compared to last year, stating, "We must consider that better conditions and reserves have been created compared to last year, and good measures have been taken regarding diesel, fuel oil, etc., both by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Co. and the Ministry of Power. We hope to have the fewest problems in the field of energy supply this year."
