IranPlast exhibition sets record for domestic participation

SHANA (Tehran) – The IranPlast exhibition set a new record for domestic participation this year, the event’s manager said Monday.

Mohammad Maqareh, the director of the 19th International IranPlast Exhibition, called the event the most important platform for the development of the polymer industry and related businesses in the country. He spoke at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was founded in 2002.

“In previous editions, the number of Iranian participants never exceeded 650 companies, but this year we are witnessing the presence of 705 domestic companies,” Maqareh said.

He noted the active participation of domestic and international attendees, adding, “So far, 200 foreign merchants have registered to visit the exhibition, about 150 of whom are present at this ceremony.”

Maqareh emphasized the importance of export development and global trade, stating that a significant portion of the exhibitors are small and medium-sized enterprises. The exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for them to enter international markets.

“The main buyers of our products are from neighboring countries, especially Iraq, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, which have a strong presence this year,” he said.

Coinciding with the exhibition, 38 specialized workshops will be held in cooperation with various industry associations, Maqareh announced. He also noted that for the first time, a system has been set up to upload product information. This will allow visitors to connect directly with producers and arrange virtual meetings even after the exhibition concludes.

In closing, Maqareh thanked the domestic participants and foreign trade delegations, expressing hope that the 19th IranPlast Exhibition would be a turning point for developing Iranian businesses and strengthening their presence in global markets.
