Extensive localization of industrial equipment at SP Refinery 7

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of operations at the seventh refinery of the South Pars Gas Complex announced the extensive localization of industrial equipment and items at the facility, calling it a significant step toward enhancing the country’s economic resilience.

According to the South Pars Gas Complex Company, Mohammad Sedaqat emphasized the importance of gas production as a key driver of economic development, stating, "Amid economic fluctuations and sanctions, gas production remains a major contributor to GDP growth and strengthening national economic resilience."

Highlighting the seventh refinery’s achievements in equipment localization, he said the facility has successfully localized over 90% of its industrial filters and valves. Items such as elbows, pipes, valves, bolts, speed controllers, flanges, and gaskets have been fully sourced and purchased domestically. In the mechanical seal sector, more than 80% of items have been localized, with high-quality equipment supplied by domestic manufacturers.

Regarding preparations for the 2025 major overhaul, Sedaghat noted that 80% of the required equipment has already been sourced domestically, with firefighting equipment fully supplied through local capabilities. Additionally, service unit materials—including paints, sheets, insulation, and tools—have been 100% procured from domestic sources.
