According to NIDC, Abdolkarim Alimohammadi said Well No. 174, the final well in the project, was completed on July 23 using the heavy-duty onshore drilling rig Fat’h 43, marking the official conclusion of the project.
Highlighting close cooperation between NIDC and PEDEC in executing the project, he added that four heavy onshore drilling rigs were deployed, with total drilling reaching 37,700 meters. In line with the contract, well acidizing operations were also fully completed alongside drilling.
The South Azadegan field drilling project is among the key initiatives in the West Karun oil field development plan. Its successful execution, leveraging technical expertise, marks a significant step toward increasing the country’s crude oil production capacity.
