The Secretary General highlighted SHANA’s valuable contributions in maximizing media coverage of the high-profile event, which brought together global energy leaders, policymakers, and industry experts. As the official media organization nominated by the Islamic Republic of Iran, SHANA played a crucial role in amplifying OPEC’s engagement with a wider audience. 

Al Ghais emphasized OPEC’s commitment to transparency and openness, fostering strong partnerships with professional media entities like SHANA. The 9th OPEC Seminar set a new benchmark with a record 24 Media Partners from over a dozen countries, enhancing global outreach and dialogue on critical energy issues. 

Given SHANA’s constructive and impactful coverage before and during the Seminar, the Secretary General expressed hope for continued collaboration in future OPEC events.

The 9th OPEC International Seminar, under the theme “Charting Pathways Together: The Future of Global Energy” took place from July 9-10 2025, at the historic Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria.
