Mohammad Shariatmadari met Sunday with Shakhruk Gulamov, Uzbekistan’s deputy minister of investment, industry and trade, and proposed forming a permanent working group for petrochemical industry cooperation. He said the group could serve as a permanent secretariat for Iran-Uzbekistan collaboration in the sector.
Shariatmadari expressed PGPIC’s willingness to cooperate in marketing Uzbek products in Iran, adding, “We are prepared to draft and sign a roadmap for bilateral petrochemical cooperation.”
The PGPIC CEO also announced the company’s readiness to train skilled personnel working in Uzbekistan’s petrochemical industry and reiterated the importance of expanding joint ventures, mutual investments, and the exchange of petrochemical goods and materials.
Gulamov welcomed the proposals and confirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness for joint investment in development projects. Noting the expertise of PGPIC’s workforce, he called for the establishment of a training program for personnel in Uzbekistan’s petrochemical sector with support from the Iranian holding company.
