MoU signed to replace 1m low-consumption heaters

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) reported on the beginning gas heaters optimization plan with high efficiency.

Saeid Tavakoli stated that this plan can have significant impact on the reduction of energy consumption in the country and can lead to sustainability in the country’s gas network.

On Friday, May 9, on the sidelines of signing two memorandums for replacement of heaters with high efficiency ones, referring to the fact that one of the most significant issues of last year was energy management that was strictly followed up, Tavakoli stated that one of the most efficient ways of energy saving that can be effective up to 80 percent is optimizing heating devices.

Around 20 to 21 million heating systems are installed in the country most of which being heaters. Even a one-percent increase in efficiency can be helpful for the country’s gas network.

Referring to the fact that around 95 percent of the population has access to gas and 85 percent of that is provided by the power plants of this company, he said that during winter the majority of ga consumption is dedicated to household and commercial use meanwhile during the summer industries and powerhouses have the most use. Nonetheless the NGS is faced with complications.

The CEO of NIGC thanked all the staff and noted that the country was faced with challenges last winter but was tried to prevent gas cut offs in households that could not have been done without the hard work, dedication and cooperation of the staff.

Tavakoli referred to the gas imbalance in the country and said that any prevention from unnecessary gas use and saving can lead to more gas storage for the country that can lead to sustainability and economic growth for the country industry

He emphasized the importance of this plan by mentioning that and added value from efficient gas use can lead up to increase in production, development in, creating job opportunities and an overall better cash turnover for production and industrial companies. In the following plans all major repairs will be executed according to the plan.

The CEO of NGC mentioned that these years repairing process had begun earlier that the years before and said despite pressure and complications in this process the actions taken have resulted in reduction the repairing timeframe, optimization and operational overlap resulting in prevention from possible cutoffs and potential limitations that all and all have led to a sustainable energy supply in the country.
