Young engineers key to unlocking oil industry challenges

SHANA (Tehran) – Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said Saturday that young engineers in the oil industry have successfully addressed key challenges in the sector, emphasizing the government’s duty to support them and help resolve obstacles.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025), Mohajerani praised the achievements on display, stating, “As an Iranian, I take great pride in what I’ve seen today. The outstanding accomplishments here clearly highlight the role of technical expertise and young engineers.”

She noted that while certain segments of the industry may face disruptions, the government is responsible for facilitating solutions. “Since this year has been designated as the ‘Year of Investment in Production,’ we are prioritizing attracting capital, streamlining processes, and removing barriers,” she added.

Mohajerani also highlighted the strong collaboration between the oil industry and academia, saying, “Today, the oil sector and universities understand each other well.” She described the oil and gas industry as a driving force for national development and a key player in the economy, particularly through its partnerships with knowledge-based companies.

The exhibition, she said, serves as a platform for industry supply and demand while showcasing the country’s strength and capabilities.

Later, Mohajerani visited the media center of the Ministry of Petroleum’s public relations department during her tour of the exhibition.

Started on Wednesday, the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025) runs for four days at Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds, open to the public from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
