Sepahdar Abbaszadeh stressed the importance of precise execution of maintenance plans to ensure operational readiness, stating: "The major overhauls of 33 South Pars gas platforms have begun as scheduled."
He said the goal of the operation is to guarantee stable gas production during the cold season, adding: "This year, in addition to routine activities, key operations such as flare tip repairs at 80 meters above sea level, replacement of pig launcher outlet elbows, installation and replacement of 32-inch valves, and inspection, repair, and high-pressure vessel cleaning are on the agenda."
Abbaszadeh described the challenges of offshore overhauls as unique, noting: "Conducting these operations at sea—about 100 kilometers from the coast—requires meticulous planning and special measures. The presence of sour fluids, high temperatures, and extreme humidity makes thorough inspection, monitoring, and equipment maintenance even more critical."
Highlighting the importance of performing overhauls during the summer months, he emphasized: "This ensures full preparedness to meet the country’s gas demand in winter and prevents disruptions in stable energy supply."
In closing, he referenced last year’s record gas extraction from the South Pars field, expressing hope that "this year, through safe and effective maintenance, we will not only meet production targets but also set new records in maximizing the country’s gas output."
