South Pars Phase 11 gas production hits 20 mcm

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company announced the completion of drilling and the start of operations at the eighth well in South Pars Phase 11, stating that gas extraction from this phase has increased to 20 million cubic meters (mcm) per day.

Touraj Dehqani said that after drilling the eighth well (Well No. 2) at the SPD11B platform location, completion operations were carried out, and following acid stimulation and flowback, the well became operational.

He praised Petropars, the contractor for the South Pars Phase 11 development project, for its strong performance, adding that in recent days, with approval from the National Iranian Oil Company’s production supervision management, the well was connected to the SPD11B platform facilities and began production.

The Pars Oil and Gas CEO emphasized that daily rich gas extraction from South Pars Phase 11, including output from the new well, has now reached 20 mcm.

The South Pars Phase 11 development project is the final phase of the 24-phase plan for this shared field. Its first platform, with eight production wells, is now operational.

Prioritizing the development of shared fields—particularly gas fields—four wells at the SPD11B location have been drilled and put into operation since the start of the 14th administration. The remaining four wells at this location will become operational in the coming months, enabling the first stage of this phase along the Iran-Qatar border to reach full production capacity of 28 mcm of gas per day.
