Gasoline consumption up 6% on March 21

SHANA (Tehran) – Gasoline consumption in Iran increased by approximately 6% on the first day of the Iranian New Year, Farvardin 1, 1404 (March 21, 2025), coinciding with Nowruz holiday travels.

According to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), 114.8 million liters of gasoline were distributed across the country on Farvardin 1, 1404, compared to 108.4 million liters on the same day last year.

The comparison shows a 6% increase in gasoline consumption, with a difference of 6.4 million liters. 

In the final days of the year 1403 (March 19-20, 2025), coinciding with the end of the year and Nowruz travels, gasoline consumption reached 164.4 million liters and 144.8 million liters on Esfand 29 (March 19) and Esfand 30 (March 20), respectively.
