Speaking to reporters on Wednesday before a development and planning council meeting in Asaluyeh, Hamid Bovard emphasized that this marks the fifth provincial trip of the 14th government.
He noted that the oil industry and the Ministry of Petroleum accompanied the president during his visit to Bushehr province.
Bovard stated that upon arrival in Asaluyeh, after paying tribute to the unknown martyrs, the delegation visited a petrochemical project.
He added that they would soon attend the Asaluyeh Development and Planning Council meeting. The trip will continue tomorrow with industrial and field visits, as well as participation in the Kangān Administrative Council meeting. A visit to the development plan of the Tabnak field is also on the agenda.
Take "2 Degrees Less" campaign seriously
The deputy oil minister expressed his satisfaction in informing the public that the 14th government has broken the national gas production record multiple times.
He highlighted that Iran’s daily gas extraction has now exceeded 1.1 billion cubic meters, enabling the supply of gas to various sectors, including households, commercial entities, power plants, and industries.
Bovard noted that with increased gas extraction, there have been no supply cuts to households, and equivalent fuel has been provided to power plants. He urged the public to take the "2 Degrees Less" campaign seriously to avoid any issues in gas supply across sectors.
He emphasized that the campaign has led to a reduction of 15 to 20 million cubic meters per day in household consumption and called on the public to consume energy fairly.
Appreciation for oil, gas operational staff
The NIOC head also pointed to the increased oil production capacity under the 14th administration, praising the efforts of oil industry colleagues.
He acknowledged challenges in announcing production figures due to sanctions and export limitations but stated that production and export conditions remain favorable.
Bovard added that with increased oil production, export records from recent years were broken in January, and this success will continue in February and March.
He highlighted the record-breaking gas extraction from the South Pars field, which has reached an unprecedented 716 million cubic meters per day, supplying 70% of the country’s gas.
Bovard expressed gratitude to oil industry colleagues working on platforms and in operational oil and gas areas.
The NIOC CEO also mentioned that most flares in the Asaluyeh region have contractors for gas collection, with physical progress on these projects at 40%.
He expressed optimism about positive developments in the collection of associated gases in Asaluyeh next year.
