Daily gas transfer volume hits record high of 880 mcm

SHANA (Tehran) –The spokesperson for Iranian Gas Transmission Company (IGTC) announced that 880 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas were transferred on Saturday, marking the seventh gas transfer record in the country for the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2024).

Mahmoud Hosseini highlighted the full readiness of facilities, equipment, and the gas transmission fleet, stating that during the same period last year, 854 mcm of gas were transferred, indicating a 3% increase in gas transfer volume.

He reported that 200 turbo-compressor units were operational that day and added that the Gas Transmission Company, with 10 operational regions, over 40,000 kilometers of high-pressure gas pipelines, and 94 gas pressure boosting facilities, is tasked with ensuring stable, safe, clean, and efficient natural gas transmission for residential, commercial, industrial, and power plant use.

The spokesperson urged all Iranians to continue supporting the "2 Degrees Less" campaign, helping manage gas consumption and ensuring this divine blessing reaches all parts of the country, especially cold and hard-to-reach areas.

The first record this Iranian year was set on December 25, 2024, with 862 mcm of gas transferred, and the sixth record was achieved on January 13, with 876 mcm of gas transferred within 24 hours.
