President emphasizes efforts to address people's issues despite sanctions

SHANA (Tehran) – President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that efforts must be made to resolve the problems faced by the people, despite ongoing challenges, sanctions, and pressures.

His remarks came on Saturday, during a ceremony commemorating the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution's victory.

The event, held at the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, included a reaffirmation of commitment to his ideals.

Pezeshkian extended congratulations on the occasion and highlighted the importance of adhering to Imam Khomeini's testament, which he described as a guiding path for the nation.

He recited excerpts from Imam Khomeini's political and divine will, emphasizing the need for unity, solidarity, and adherence to divine commandments.

"The holy book is not just for reading but for acting upon," he said, referencing the Quran's emphasis on accountability for human actions. He added that if such principles were meticulously followed in governance, the country would flourish.

The president lamented that, as Imam Khomeini noted in his will, the teachings of the Quran and divine commandments are often only recited at funerals rather than being implemented.

He pointed out that the Quran's strict instructions on justice and fairness are frequently ignored.

Pezeshkian also cited Imam Ali's teachings in Nahj ul-Balagha, urging unity and warning against division. "We often act contrary to these teachings, fostering discord and separation, when our strength lies in being united," he said.

Reflecting on the actions of the Prophet Muhammad during the conquest of Mecca, Pezeshkian stressed that if Muslims viewed themselves as brothers and acted in unity, no external power could dominate them.

He argued that even a small regime would struggle to challenge a united Muslim community. "If we stand together in a unified front, bombs and missiles will be ineffective," he said.

The president reiterated the Quran's emphasis on establishing justice in society and called for collective efforts to uphold these values.

He reminded attendees that it was the people who entrusted leaders with their positions, and it is their duty to address the people's problems despite sanctions and pressures.

"With the support of the people and the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, we will strive to overcome these challenges," he concluded.

The ceremony was attended by Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad and other cabinet members, who accompanied the president.
