Ali Moghdani, director of Region 10 of Gas Transmission Operations Zones, stated that the region currently handles over 80% of the country’s gas transmission, making it one of the most critical operational areas for delivering gas from production hubs to the national transmission network. 

"Over the nine months to December 20, 2024, more than 180 bcm of sour and sweet gas were transported through the national pipelines within this operational region," he said. 

Moghdani highlighted the implementation of intelligent pigging operations, reporting that 125 kilometers of the 10th pipeline and 99 kilometers of the 8th national gas transmission pipeline have been inspected so far this year.

These operations have helped identify pipeline corrosion issues, ensuring safer and more efficient gas transmission. 

He also emphasized the development of gas infrastructure to support safe, stable, and efficient gas transmission using domestic expertise.

"By leveraging the specialized knowledge of our workforce, we have achieved significant milestones in repairing parts and equipment for gas pressure-boosting facilities," he said. 

 Major achievements in equipment repairs 

Moghdani identified turbine component repairs for gas pressure-boosting facilities as the region's most significant achievement.

He noted that relying on domestic expertise and Iranian knowledge-based companies, various maintenance and refurbishment projects for gas pressure-boosting stations—including the repair of electronic boards and fixed equipment—have been successfully completed without foreign assistance. 

 Commissioning of pressure-boosting facility 

He also pointed out the launch of the Shahid Baqeri Gas Pressure-Boosting Facility in Khurmuj, Bushehr Province.

Equipped with four turbo-compressors, the facility has a daily compression capacity of 107 mcm. According to Moghdani, this milestone reflects Iran’s advanced technical expertise in the gas industry.
