IGTC announces 2 bcm rise in gas transfer

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of Iranian Gas Transmission Company (IGTC) announced a 2 billion cubic meter (bcm) increase in gas transmission from the beginning of this Iranian year (March 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year.

Peyman Khazraei, speaking on the sidelines of a visit to Region 2 of the gas transmission operations, stated that the company has transferred over 228 bcm of gas across the country since the start of the year, marking a 2 bcm increase compared to the same period last year.

He noted that, thanks to the efforts of the company’s employees, there have been no interruptions in stable gas transmission, and a daily record of 876 million cubic meters of gas was set on January 13 this year.

Khazraei added that the company currently operates 10 regions, and with the upcoming launch of a new region in Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, the number of operational regions will increase to 11.

The CEO also highlighted the readiness of all stations and high-pressure pipelines for gas transmission and network stability.

He mentioned that, in the near future, the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, in collaboration with technology-based companies, will enhance the localization of equipment, major turbine fleet repairs, and the overall management and stability of the network.
