Hassan Mousavi stated that 640 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas were consumed by households, commercial sectors, and small industries on Monday (January 20).

He added that 875 mcm of natural gas were produced and injected into the national grid on the same day.

Mousavi noted an 18% increase in gas consumption by households, commercial sectors, and small industries compared to the same period last year, with these sectors accounting for 73% of the total gas delivered to the national grid.

Following a cold snap and forecasts of further temperature drops, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and other officials urged the public to participate in the "2 Degrees Less" campaign. Through video and written messages, they called for optimal energy use and cooperation in ensuring winter fuel supply.
