Kambiz Saffati highlighted significant achievements in key refinery units, stating that the fifth refinery played a crucial role in boosting the country’s economy by producing over 16.7 million barrels of gas condensates during the same period.

Saffati noted that the refinery successfully completed insulation resistance testing and electrical parameter analysis for 26 transformers, as well as maintenance on 33 kV and 6 kV circuit breakers, relying on domestic expertise, locally manufactured components, and support from knowledge-based companies and first-time project implementers.

He emphasized that high-quality maintenance and innovative efforts by local specialists and staff led to the production of more than 105,000 tons of ethane at the fifth refinery over the nine-month period.

Saffati reported that 14.79 billion cubic meters of gas were processed at the refinery during this time, alongside the production of over 350,000 tons of propane and 185,000 tons of butane.

Other notable achievements in 2023 included the repair and modernization of three sulfur recovery units (SRU 144), insulation resistance testing for 60 high-voltage power cables at Station No. 1, and the replacement of all defective flame detectors, as well as improvements in the refinery’s MIH index.

Saffati added that this year’s major maintenance activities were successfully carried out with the expertise and planning of the refinery’s staff, completing over 1,758 work orders across various units.

He urged citizens to support operational staff by participating in the “2 Degrees Less” campaign, which encourages reducing indoor heating temperatures at homes and workplaces to alleviate pressure on energy resources.
