PEDEC emphasizes on preserving Hur al-Azim in Sohrab Oilfield development

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) emphasized the importance of protecting the Hur al-Azim wetland during the development of the Sohrab Oilfield at the ninth Joint Management Committee (JMC) meeting for the project. 

Speaking on Monday, Nasrollah Zarei underscored the need to prioritize environmental standards in the company’s operations.

“We have proposed measures to prevent any harm to the Hur al-Azim wetland during the development of the Sohrab Oilfield. We also approved the necessary expenditures for this purpose and urged the contractor and project manager to expedite project implementation,” he said. 

Mehdi Najarian, the project manager for the Sohrab Oilfield, presented a detailed report at the meeting, outlining oversight of the contractor’s performance and suggesting improvements to enhance operational processes. 

Following discussions on the meeting agenda, the committee approved the next year’s program and budget to ensure progress on the project.
