Nasrollah Zarei, speaking at the inauguration of Iran’s first simultaneous center of Well, Reservoir, and Surface Facilities Management (WRFM) on Tuesday, noted that oil production capacity should increase according to the Seventh Development Plan.
He added that, given current circumstances, private investors, semi-governmental institutions, and strong contractors are needed to achieve the goals outlined in the plan. The Ministry of Oil's approach will be to leverage the presence of investors and contractors and create the necessary conditions for their involvement.
He also mentioned that Pasargad Oil Company is one of the most successful exploration and production companies in Iran, highlighting its role in developing several Iranian oil fields under the IPC contract, including the Sepehr and Jofeir fields for the first time.
The official emphasized that delays in the development of the Sepehr and Jofeir fields in recent years have now been addressed, and he expressed hope that this progress would continue, with the second phase of development soon to be operational.
The National Iranian Oil Company will work alongside exploration and production companies.
Zarei referred to the inauguration of the country's first WRFM center at the Pasargad Energy Development Company and said they expect the main investor in phase two, starting next month, to actively participate.
He praised Pasargad Energy Development Company for its leadership in knowledge and technology development, adding that the company has made significant strides in this area.
The official expressed hope that the company would also engage in addressing other challenges in the oil industry, such as environmental issues.
According to him, the company has also entered the renewable energy sector.
