Mousa Ahmadi referenced Monday’s meeting between the Energy Committee and Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, noting: “Both the Speaker of Parliament and the specialized committees are committed to resolving the challenges facing the government through collaboration, unity, and synergy. Our shared goal is to serve the people and ensure we fulfill our responsibilities effectively.” 

He continued, “As the Leader has outlined, the success of this administration is a success for all. We are united in pursuing a common objective. These meetings provide an opportunity to align our data, statistics, and insights with those of the ministries. Any gaps or issues are addressed collaboratively, leading to sound and practical solutions to achieve our goals.” 

Addressing energy imbalances, Ahmadi remarked, “I have conducted extensive studies on this issue and repeatedly highlighted that these imbalances are not a recent phenomenon. The problems have accumulated over a long period and have now led to this situation. Today, our energy production does not match consumption, but we cannot remain idle. We must devise actionable short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to achieve results.” 

Strong collaboration with Oil Ministry

Ahmadi also mentioned that the commission members, alongside the oil minister, toured the National Iranian Oil Company’s monitoring center during the meeting.

“Such visits allow us to observe issues related to oil platforms, production levels, financial challenges, and workforce concerns firsthand. This direct understanding aids us in making informed budgetary decisions. These sessions are invaluable for both the commission and the ministry,” he explained. 

Commenting on the oil minister’s performance in recent months, Ahmadi said, “Minister Paknejad’s performance has been commendable. His strong collaboration with Parliament and the Energy Commission has positively impacted efforts to address challenges in the energy sector.” 

He concluded by noting that he had proposed several solutions to tackle energy imbalances, to which the oil minister committed to implementation.

“I believe these measures can significantly help in reducing power outages,” Ahmadi said.
