Speaking at the scientific-specialized seminar “Artificial Intelligence, Fuel Distribution Transformation”, on Sunday, Keramat Veis-karami, invited all entities involved in utilizing artificial intelligence technology in the oil industry to collaborate. He mentioned that NIOPDC, with a history of over 96 years, has reached a point where artificial intelligence must be used as a priority.
He explained that the company transports 260 million liters of various oil products via 15,000 road transport vehicles round the clock to different parts of the country.
The CEO noted that the company has 235 operational zones across the country, emphasizing that plans for automating these zones are underway. He added that this method will enable all tasks in these zones to be performed without the intervention of human resources and hardware, underscoring the need to trust the role of artificial intelligence.
Veis-karami highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence in the chain of production, storage, transfer, and distribution of oil products. Establishing an AI committee is among the major initiatives undertaken in the past year, he said, stressing the importance of industry-academic collaboration to leverage all existing capacities.
He noted that NIOPDC needs cooperation from all sectors outside the oil industry to realize the use of AI technology in downstream activities.
