Clarification of Joint Foreign Investments Necessary

SHANA (Tehran) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of resolving issues related to joint foreign investment projects, especially in the energy sector, emphasizing the need to utilize the capacities of neighboring countries.

According to Shana, quoting from the Presidential Information Website, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Sunday evening, in a meeting to review the latest status of joint foreign investment projects stated that today all our efforts should be directed towards finishing the half-completed projects that were previously agreed upon with foreign partners, adding all the available capacities should be deployed to bring them to completion.

He referred to remarks by Mohsen Paknejad, the Minister of Petroleum, regarding joint cooperation with Russia and Turkmenistan, adding "In negotiations with foreign countries, we should use all available options to create a solution to the benefit of the people and the country."

The President criticized the way projects were started in the past and later abandoned unfinished, emphasizing that "we should first identify our capacities within the country before embarking on new projects."

In this meeting, Mohsen Paknejad, the Minister of Petroleum, Mohammad Islami, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, and Abbas Aliabadi, the Minister of Energy, provided an update on the latest status of negotiations in the oil, gas, and power sectors with Russia and Turkmenistan. They presented reports on the current state of cooperation with these countries and the proposed plans for future negotiations.
