Foreign Investment Quadrupled in Oil Industry

SHANA (Tehran) - The head of the parliament’s energy committee has said that foreign investment in Iran’s oil industry quadrupled during the 3 years of the 13th administration in office.

Speaking with Mehr News Agency, Mousa Ahmadi said that those investments would be followed by developing oil and gas fields and rising oil and gas withdrawal.

He further said that under the 13th administration, investment in the oil and gas sector reached 28.5 billion dollars resulting in the completion of 100 projects.

Ahmadi stated that the 13th administration as a pragmatic government was focused on implementing projects which resulted in a jump in oil and gas industry investments.

Under the management of the Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji, the majority of shared oil and gas fields have been decided upon, which will be followed by rising oil production in coming years, he said.
