TEHRAN – Kharg Petrochemical Complex has exported more than 528,000 tons of products in the first five-month period of the current year, leading to injection of more than 1,000 billion rials into state coffers.

Mohammad Hassan Razeqian, managing-director of the complex, told PIN the plant is supposed to produce 1.16 million tons by end-year. He said the products included 300,000 tons of ethanol, 78,000 tons of sulfur and 150,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Established in 1969, the Kharq Petrochemical Complex is expected to recover propane, butane, naphtha and sulfur. An agreement has already been signed for Kharg to produce more than two million tons of methanols a year.
