Expert meetings of 17th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission start in Tehran

SHANA (Tehran) – Expert meetings of the 17th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission started in Tehran on Monday.

The National Iranian Oil Company's Kushk Hall Center is hosting the meetings, during which working groups comprising the two countries’ experts will exchange views on bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, and petrochemical; monetary and banking; transport; housing; agriculture; standards; telecommunications and information technology; industry, mine, and trade; customs; sciences; electricity and renewable energies; water and the environment; nuclear energy; tourism; sports and youth; free zones; health and sanitation; cooperatives; labor and social welfare; and arts, culture, and media.

During the first two days of the of 17th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission, the working groups prepare various cooperation documents and submit to Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak for signature, the cochairmen of the commission.

The 16th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission meeting was held in Russia from October 29 to November 1, 2022.

The first edition dates back to November 1996, five years after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
