According to Yousef Reza Akbari, the head of Ziyar field’s drilling area, around 4,064 meters have been so far drilled and step-by-step pilot tests will be done soon.

He added more than 140 rig crews of the Iranian company Pars Energy-gostar Drilling and Exploration (PEDEX) are working there, saying initial studies show that good news will likely come in by the end of winter 2024.

If the exploration operations confirm the existence of a gas reservoir, it will be the third proven hydrocarbon field of Golesten Province and it will be officially listed as an oil- and gas-rich province of the country.
