Effects of government policies to neutralize sanctions, increase oil revenues ‘noticeable’: MP

SHANA (Tehran) – A member of Iran’s Parliament said the effects of the government’s policies to neutralize sanctions and increase oil revenues and economic growth are “noticeable”.

Talking to SHANA, Hossein Hosseinzadeh added positive developments have taken place in the oil and gas industry since the 13th administration took office, leading to the increase in oil sales and economic growth in that sector.

“We need to make more investment in the oil and gas sector to witness the continuation of the economic growth,” he underlined.

The lawmaker, who is a member of the Parliament’s Energy Committee, said the establishment of refineries and refinery-integrated petrochemical plants helps avoid selling raw materials, make valuable products, create economic value and job opportunities, neutralize sanctions, generate export revenues, and diversify customers.

Last Wednesday, Oil Minister Javad Owji said the Statistical Center of Iran has reported that the oil and gas sector has achieved 25.6 percent economic growth, an “unprecedented” rate in domestic industry.

The achievement was made by investment, a top priority in the Oil Ministry, said Owji, continuing investment helps boost production and create added value.
