The two high-ranking officials are heading to the Belarusian capital Minsk concurrent with the 30th anniversary of official relations between the two countries with the aim of promoting bilateral cooperation in different fields, including the energy sector.
Mokhber, who was officially invited by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, will hold talks with the country’s president, premier, and Parliament speaker during his one-day stay.
A delegation comprising ministers is accompanying Iran’s first vice president and scheduled to meet a delegation from Belarus.
On Monday, Owji expressed Iran’s readiness to promote cooperation with Belarus in the energy sector and supply Belarusian companies with oil, gas, petrochemical, and industrial equipment.
The oil minister said, “We welcome Belarus’s investment in projects for developing Iran’s new oil fields, and Iranian consultants and contractors are eager to participate in the Belarusian gas transmission and distribution projects.”
