MP: Raeisi administration energy diplomacy strengthens Iran position

SHANA (Tehran) – A member of Iran’s Parliament on Tuesday said promotion of energy diplomacy by the 13th (Raeisi) administration has strengthened the country’s position in this arena.

Ebrahim Matinian, who made remarks in his talks with SHANA, referred to Oil Minister Javad Owji’s participation in the 8th OPEC International Seminar recently held in the Austrian capital Vienna and said, “The oil minister really defended the country’s clear and transparent stance on guaranteeing security of energy supply to serve consumers’ interests and global economy in this seminar.”

Owji said any politicization of the energy issue would result in destabilizing global energy markets and damaging peoples’ interests across the globe, recalled the member of Iranian Parliament’s Energy Committee.

The lawmaker said Iran’s presence in the 8th OPEC International Seminar was aimed at strengthening its status in line with the 13th administration’s strategies through promoting energy diplomacy.

Owji held talks with oil and energy ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Iraq on the sidelines of the seminar, mentioned Matinian, adding development of joint oil projects, bilateral relations in the oil sector, exchanges in the oil and gas industry, joint investments, shared oil fields, exports of Iran’s technical and engineering services to Iraq, and implementation of joint projects were underlined in the meetings.
