The operations, which kicked off during President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi’s visit to Kohgilouyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province in the presence of Oil Minister Javad Owji and National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Managing Director Majid Chegeni, is aimed at helping redress the seasonal imbalance between gas production and consumption.
The project will be implemented in two stages and 10 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) will be added to the country’s gas production capacity when it becomes operational.
More than 2,000 local experts will help carry out the project within three years and 420 million euros have been earmarked for completing the project.
Eight to 10 wells will be drilled in the reservoir development stage and refining, gas injection, and gas dehydration unit systems will be installed later to inject the reservoir’s gas into the national grid.
The undeveloped hydrocarbon reservoir is situated 10 kilometers off the provincial capital Yasouj.
