IOOC: Iran’s daily oil output in Persian Gulf to rise by 10,000 bpd

SHANA (Tehran) – The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) managing director said on Saturday the country’s production in the Persian Gulf will increase by around 10,000 barrels per day (bpd) by mid-March 2024.

Alireza Mehdizadeh added the output will grow as decks of A20 and A21 platforms of Abouzar Oil Field in Khorramshahr, a port city in southwestern province of Khuzestan, are installed.

The IOOC CEO said the construction of the platforms has witnessed an 85 percent physical progress.

Each of these platforms weighs about 1,200 tons, mentioned Mehdizadeh, continuing their substructure has been built and installed.

According to him, the drilling of eight wells at the platform site has had a 90 percent progress, and the pre-commissioning of the offshore project will start within a month.
