Asadzadeh: Iran-Indonesia oil cooperation to be promoted

SHANA (Jakarta) – Iran’s deputy oil minister for international affairs and trade and Indonesia's minister of energy and mineral resources here on Monday discussed the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

Ahmad Asadzadeh held talks with Arifin Tasrif a day ahead of Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi’s arrival in the Indonesian capital.

Iran and Indonesia signed documents on cooperation in oil and gas industry in the presence of the two countries’ presidents on Tuesday.

Preferential trade agreement (PTA), Visa Waiver Program (VWP), cultural exchanges, cooperation on supervising pharmaceutical production, scientific and technological cooperation, and cooperation in oil and gas industry were agreed in the 11 documents inked by Iran’s foreign, communication and information technology, trade, vice president for scientific and technological affairs, deputy minister of industry, mine and trade, and oil ministers and their Indonesian counterparts.

Heading a high-ranking political-economic delegation, Raeisi was officially welcomed by his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo on Tuesday morning.
