The documents were signed after a meeting between Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who are also the co-chairs of the Permanent Russian-Iranian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The documents pertain to cooperation in the fields of industry, technology transfer and oil recovery enhancement.
One of the MoUs was signed between the Iranian Oil Ministry and International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy by Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Trade Ahmad Asadzadeh and President of Russia’s International Fuel and Energy Development Academy Valery Salygin.
The two countries’ companies also signed MoUs on the transfer of technology for production of compressors and creation of joint markets for them, implementation of the upstream projects and cooperation in the fields of developing operational technology for the required equipment, furnishing production units with smart systems and improving educational operator systems.
In addition, Iran’s Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) signed two memorandums with Russia’s Kazan Federal University and a Russian company, with the former pertaining to enhancing oil recovery and the latter related to transferring upstream technologies.
A roadmap for scientific and technological cooperation was also inked between Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum and the Russian Energy Ministry.
Also, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration and Russia’s Federal customs service inked an Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) agreement.
The two contracts, signed between Iranian and Russian firms, pertained to supply of steel wire ropes and establishment of a representative office.
